A boyish Paul Jensen emerged as the latest American Rookie of the Month today.
The young man from Cleveland deserved the honor, batting .355 with 4 home runs and 19 runs batted in.
Is the month of September a harbinger of things to come or just a fluke?
We'll find out someday, but for now, we'll just let Jensen enjoy the limelight.
Jensen on the season is batting .268 with 22 home runs. His totals include 74 RBIs and 67 runs scored. He has played in 155 games.

 | Monday, September 26th, 2033: Perales Pitches Gem against Cleveland
In an outstanding outing, Pepe Perales tamed Cleveland on a 1-hit shutout. The Detroit hurler went the distance, finishing with 5 strikeouts and no walks in the 1-0 win.
"He had a lot of first pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to the Cleveland manager. "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."

It was a quiet day for the Kansas City Royals at Jacobs Field today. It was Eric Hoekstra the Cleveland who made all of the noise. He shut them out 8-0, allowing 2 hits while walking 5 and fanning 4.
Hoekstra has started 30 times this year, pitched 192.2 innings, fanned 116 batters and walked 58. His current record is 13 wins and 10 losses with a 3.32 ERA.
